Prof. Peter Harrison
Professor Peter Harrison was Andreas Idreos Professor of Science and Religion at the University of Oxford. He is now director of the Centre of the History of European Discourses at the University of Queensland. His main research interest is the impact of religion on the history of science. Peter was born in Australia and studied Science and Arts at the University of Queensland. He was a high school science teacher until he developed an interest in the philosophy of science and religion. He studied philosophy and religion at Yale University and then completed a PhD in religious history. Before taking up his post at Oxford he was Professor of History and Philosophy at Bond University, Australia. He speaks regularly in public lectures on the history of science and religion.
